IM 389 - Game Production II
Role
Gameplay Engineer
Yarnover was a team project I worked on while in University with a large team of classmates. We were tasked with making a game with a heavy emphasis on making a vertical slice and expanding from there. We decided to build a Noir type game all about solving a Murder Mystery.
My role on this project was a Gameplay Engineer. During this role I did programming tasks working on gameplay mechanics.
The mechanics I worked on were the camera and ladder mechanics.
For the camera mechanics I needed to create a system that would allow the player to take pictures of evidence and save them in the appropriate slot in the journal without capturing the UI.
For the ladder mechanic I made a simple system that allowed vertical mobility in the game world.
